Youth Empowerment
Since 2021, ESCO has implemented various programs including:
- Life Skills Development Programme for both male and female youth through various trainings – Leadership, Communication, Non-violent Communication, Vocational trainings for school dropped out youth etc.
- Youth Empowerment and Development
- IMPACT PLUS Programme: Focuses on adolescent leadership development, communication skills, needs assessment in villages, and implementation of small-scale projects towards their village development.
- Strengthening the spiritual nature of children through Children’s Clubs. These programs are also ongoing in the Muthur Division of Trincomalee, in partnership with World Vision Lanka.
Additionally, the organization has engaged in international and intercultural youth dialogue:
- Commonwealth Youth Forum 2018 (UK): A youth representative from ESCO’s Youth Council participated and delivered a presentation at the forum in London.
- Youth Council Programme: This initiative, supported by War Child Holland, facilitated interaction between 16 ESCO youth members and the Netherlands Youth Council. The discussions focused on child and youth development activities, as well as broader social and cultural issues, fostering international collaboration and exchange of ideas.
These efforts demonstrate ESCO’s commitment to empowering young people and promoting active citizenship at both local and international levels.
